The Quintessential Place of Women in the Society
Ladies be warned! ⚠
I was in a shop when a lady walked in with a young man she claimed was her neighbour. This lady playfully requested to pick up some items so that the man could pay her bills.
At first, when she made the request, the young man jokingly declined. Yet, she persisted. Then, he said, pick up anything you want and he walked out, but the lady was adamant. Another lady said sarcastically, “O.Y.O”. (on your own).” Do not take, he is a joker”.
Surprisingly, the lady paid a deaf ear to the warnings. She went ahead and quickly ordered the things she desired. We all stood by the corner to watch if the man would return to pay for her, but he did not.
She ate and drank to her fill. When she stood up to go, the shop owner asked her to pay up her bill and she looked around, the youngman had left. The lady became furious and disorganised because she had no money on her to offset her debts.
The shop owner simply collected her telephone from her as collateral for her debt. She went away sorrowful.
In the midst of the chaos, I sighted another fat lady who just dashed in like a hungry lion and I was startled to see that such a lady who should be concerned about her weight and in extension, her health could feast so fat on junk foods.
As she sat down, she quickly asked for Pepsi, ‘Orobo’ (the biggest bottle ), two doughnuts, two meat pies and two egg rolls. I assumed she would package some as takeaway, but to my greatest surprise, she finished everything within minutes…
I was just perplexed.
As ladies, God has given us a quintessential role in the society. We are models to our children, families and friends. Even our enemies watch us from their hideouts. So, we should recognise that and always carry ourselves with dignity.
