It is tragically funny that our modern day society still records high number of domestic violence in spite of all the efforts put in by various key agencies to checkmate and unmask this imposter. This barbaric act is considered a great problem as it poses a humongous risk to human existence.
Domestic violence is a cynical and toxic type of relationship that only victimizes people and leaves them deranged.Therefore it should not be tolerated in anyway to avoid the extreme case scenario.
Although there are polarized opinions in relation to this cynical act, especially, in Nigeria, one should not lose focus of the fact that lives are endangered and therefore stricter measures should be put into place to subdue the activities of haters.
Howbeit, a high level of politcal will is required to pursue progress towards ending this issue. In the Spirit of humanness, the Nigerian government needs to profer severe penalties for offenders because the multiplier effects of this barbaric act can result to multiple destruction of victims’ destinies as we have seen in our Nigerian society in recent times.
Although our preoccupation is peace, going forward, we do not encourage victims to die in silence.The right thing for victims to do is to speak out early to the right people or agencies before it gets out of hands.One must avoid the urge to withdraw from the right people because it is very detrimental to one’s wellbeing.
Finally, we wish to advise intending couples to always adhere to well laid out protocols and make sure that proper mechanisms are in place before undertaking this “honourable”cause, as the word of God in the bible describes it; to avert the danger of falling prey to possible impoverishment.
