We live in a world where moral values are fast eroding. People freely perpetuate immoral or antisocial behaviours without considering the weight of their actions on others. Literally, it is usually assumed that their parents did not offer due parental responsibility in the early stages of their lives.
As parents, we should be conscious of the fact that the formative age of a child is very crucial.Therefore, young couples are encouraged to pay adequate attention in the training of their children especially in their formative age because children often inculcate positive traits at the early stages of their lives if they are properly guided or the negative when the contray is the case.
Children are our future ambassadors, but the quality of their lives during adulthood could be marred by the level of negative traits they internalise during younger age as a result of negative exposures.
Although there are a lot of financial pressures on us as parents,competing with our attentions, we should not lose focus on the fact that nothing can equate with the children’s worth in our lives, even the society at large if they are well trained.
Caution should be taken so that we do not lose them to negative social behaviours they acquired possibly at younger age. The negative traits could result from abuse within or external elements as a result of parental negligence.
Whatever may be the case, parents share from the weight of the outcome of their children’s behaviour, positive or negative. As a result, they should take time to educate and monitor the progress of their children rather than assign their parental responsibilities to caregivers or external elements.
Ultimately, godly parenting is essential for proper grooming of children in order to equip them with the level of the moral values they need to withstand peer pressure.
